This position will be as a member of the Business Intelligence team of the Global Project Marketing group in the Global Oncology Division. He/She will report directly to the Senior Director, Head of Global Business Intelligence (BI), who has responsibility for the Market Insight, Competitive Intelligence and Forecasting functions. The BI team helps provide strategic direction and coordination for these activities on a global basis, to make sure the BI function delivers as per the needs of the Project Team of each asset, the Business Unit of each market, and the Business Development needs of the Global Portfolio Strategy team.

This will be a high-visibility role; this individual will assume primary BI responsibility for one or more key late-stage oncology assets. In addition, he/she will be the practice area expert in one or more of the following functions – secondary data analytics, primary market research, forecasting/asset evaluation, or competitive intelligence gathering. This person will actively participate in knowledge sharing and helping implement best practice across the division. Finally, this person will be expected to periodically initiate and lead internal strategic initiatives/projects that innovate and help improve the performance of the overall division.

This person will work closely with the other members of Global Project Marketing (the Market Access function, the various Global Brand Marketing leads), and with colleagues in the Portfolio Strategy/Business Development group. He/she will form strong working relationships with individuals who provide the market research and forecasting functions in the various markets, and ensure that their input is reflected in commissioned BI projects. The position has no direct reports at this time, but will have a Global BI budget that he/she will justify and use to commission outside agencies for various deliverables. To this end, the individual must develop and manage a strong network of external agencies/vendors that provide expert and dependable execution of commissioned projects.

 Basic qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, Master’s degree preferred

- 5+ years of experience in the global pharmaceutical industry

- Expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas – secondary data analyses, primary market research, competitive intelligence, forecasting, financial modeling and asset evaluation

- Proven ability to synthesize large volumes of information into cogent insights, and to integrate perspectives across different audiences (physician, payer, patient)

- Experience in oncology, neuroscience or other specialty pharmaceutical area

- Good understanding of the pharmaceutical drug discovery, development and commercialization processes

- Experience working in a matrix environment with multiple internal and/or external customers

- Experience supporting R&D pipeline assets and business development in-licensing opportunities

- Record of innovation, initiative and dependable execution under pressure

- Excellent listening and communication skills

- Oncology therapeutic area/disease area knowledge

- Familiarity and experience with global market dynamics in oncology

- Ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks

- Experience managing individuals and/or teams to agreed

- Experience as a consultant or industry analyst in a professional services firm

- Experience managing senior executives as internal stakeholders

- Proven ability to deliver high quality strategic analysis and to develop strategic commercial recommendations relevant to disease area / product

- Experience leading teams to conduct organization-wide problem solving projects

- Ability to build credibility quickly across a diverse range of functional teams, seniority, and geography

- High degree of creativity and innovation in developing new approaches, processes and methodologies and commitment to ensure best practices are adopted across the team.
