- Leads experimental investigations to characterize the rheological properties of oils, dilute polymer solutions, and multi-component fluids
- Develops and implements new analytical methods
- Perform hands-on research as well as direct and prioritize the work of technical staff
- Initiates new R&D projects and develops proposals for fundamental research
- Manages projects, tracks deliverables, and controls budget
- Works closely with R&D chemists and engineers in a global team environment
- Up to 20% domestic and international travel.
REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLSREQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
- MS degree (from an accredited college or university) in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, or other relevant discipline, specializing in rheology/fluid mechanics; Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial experience in rheology/fluid mechanics; 10+ years
preferred
- Expertise in the rheological characterization of fluids and dilute polymer solutions
- Demonstrated experience in structure-performance evaluations
- Proven track record of technical publications and presentations
- Good organization and planning skills; ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
- Previous experience in lubricating fluids is desirable

- Lubrication experience
- PhD specializing in rheology/fluid mechanics
