Position Overview Essential Functions – Drive all Global Logistics processes and lead the organization to maximize the benefits of a single global logistics team. – - Set the strategy for all areas of Logistics, including ocean, rail, ground and warehousing. – - Develop the optimal network strategy to maximize service levels while minimizing cost. – - Managing external fourth party (4PL) and third party (3PL) Logistics suppliers – - Harmonize processes across Logistics operations in all areas of the world. – Specific Responsibilities Include: – Develop and set strategy for a Global Logistics network. – Lead a global team of individuals responsible for the analysis, improvement and implementation of all freight modes to ensure lowest cost, maximum efficiency, and to meet all customer needs. – Manage the Global Logistics budgeting process. – Manage all internal and external warehouse resources and develop and implement optimization plans. – Lead the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures to be set/utilized by each Logistics professional globally. – Manage relationships with 3PL and 4PL service providers to achieve target savings and hit performance targets. – Lead the development and implementation of appropriate metrics and business reporting processes. – Manage and complete all required Human Resources and Compliance process requirements. – Lead career development and performance development / improvement for direct reports. – Must be able/willing to travel internationally approximately 35% of time. Required Skills Required Education and Professional Qualifications: – Bachelors Degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain, engineering or a related discipline Required Work Experience: – 10+ years in leading a global transportation/logistics network. – 5+ years of direct leadership experience including leading global teams. – Experience dealing with NAFTA and other free trade zone agreements. – Demonstrated experience managing import/export compliance. – Experience in managing the transportation and storage of hazardous materials / dangerous goods and cold storage / short shelf life material. – Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop talent. – Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written; Ability to effectively communicate at all levels in the organization from Senior Leadership to Shop Floor Operations. Required Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge: – Experience working in a global business utilizing the SAP ERP platform. – Experience with Warehouse Management Systems – Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
