<p>This position leads the process optimization team that is responsible for the NA Process Optimization (PO) Initiative and will also provide expert engineering and consulting services to the Manufacturing Community. This group drives improvements under one of the key pillars of the New Operational eXcellence (OpX) Journey across North American Manufacturing Sites. The team is made up of highly qualified and experienced experts, capable of leading and facilitating complex plant improvement projects and optimization workshops. This position must stay abreast of world-class process improvement processes and cutting-edge systems to maintain competitive advantage for the NA sites. Must be able to adapt these processes to successfully achieve real-world improvements.  The position will coordinate PO workshops and other OpX activities with the NA site managers, the OpX managers, the Automation Manager, the Energy Specialists and others, and is directly responsible for the day-to-day work assignments and activities of the group, providing technical support and guidance as needed. The manager will be responsible for the effective execution of the PO Initiative. The manager will also provide updates to the Manufacturing Community Steering Committee and will serve as the primary NA liaison with the SE consultancy group, ZZC/E, regarding the PO process.</p>
<p>Leads by example and sets environment for taking risks within the organization by addressing constraints and enabling resources.</p>
<p>Inspires others and takes accountability for an innovation pipeline by championing and discerning new and creative approaches.</p>
<p>Ensures that all services and products provide value for the company as well as customers in strategic markets.</p>

<p> <strong>Required</strong>:</p>
<p> BS degree in Chemical Engineering. Course study towards an advanced degree is strongly encouraged.  We recognize institutions of higher education that are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.</p>
<p>At least 15+ years experience as a Process Design Engineer and/or Operations Engineer. The individual must have:</p>
<p>ability to manage a self-directed, experienced and highly qualified team of experts,</p>
<p>very strong project management, organizational and client relationship skills,</p>
<p>knowledge of a wide variety of chemical production processes,</p>
<p>a strong technical knowledge in the fundamentals of unit operations design and sizing calculations, such as (batch) reactors, distillation towers, heat exchangers and extraction systems,</p>
<p>theoretical know-how and practical experience in troubleshooting plant problems and optimizing plant performance,</p>
<p>a basic knowledge of plant process control and advanced process control techniques and how they can be applied to monitor, control and / or improve plant performance,</p>
<p>strong interpersonal, communication, administrative, personal motivation and personal adaptability skills,</p>
<p>continuing &#8220;state of the art&#8221; advanced course work.</p>
<p> <strong>Desired:</strong></p>
<p>-         Experience in the use of Computer Aided Process Engineering (CAPE) applications, including AspenPlus.</p>
<p>-         Demonstrated work experience implementing projects in the Refining or Petrochemicals industry.</p>
<p>-         Knowledge of PIMS (ASPEN InfoPlus21)</p>
<p>-         Experience facilitating optimization processes, such as Six Sigma.</p>
<p>-         Experience with Design of Experiments, Material and Information Flow Analysis, Lean Manufacturing, and other optimization tools.</p>
<p>-         Knowledge of company Ecology, Health and Safety Standards.</p>
<p>-          Knowledge of the company&#8217;s project development process</p>

<p>Process Analyzer Engineers in Engineering &amp; Services Department, E&amp;I,  provide process analyzer engineering technical support for plant operating and maintenance departments.  The engineers also provide process analyzer engineering support for capital projects including:<br />
(1) definition of the process analyzer and sample system scope of project<br />
(2) input to estimates, design and specification of equipment<br />
(3) other needed capital project services.  Individuals in this role maintain expertise in assigned functional areas of process analyzers and sample systems.  The engineer also maintains corporate and site standards related to assigned functional areas, aligning these with PIP and other industry standards as applicable.</p>
<p><strong>Job Responsibilities: </strong><br />
-Provide process analyzer engineering technical support, primarily for the Texas site, but for other sites as requested.<br />
-Identify opportunities for improved process analyzers, sample systems, and on-line analytical services (e.g., quality, cost, reliability). <br />
-Maintain technical expertise in assigned functional areas of process analyzers and sample systems.<br />
-Provide training to operating departments and Analyzer Mechanics related to assigned functional areas.<br />
-Provide forecast cost and schedule estimates for capital and maintenance projects.<br />
-Determine scope of work for process analyzer and sample system portion of projects.<br />
-Provide engineering design and specifications to support procurement and construction activities for projects.<br />
-Lead and/or participate on standards teams to develop standards and practices to be used for Eastman capital and maintenance projects.<br />
-Interpret codes and standards related to functional areas of expertise. <br />
-Participate with E&amp;I team members on improvement projects related to E&amp;I processes.<br />
-Provide on-call E&amp;I support for plant operations.   <br />
-Perform above duties with attention to safety in both work practices and design. <br />
-Perform above duties with a focus on team work and customer satisfaction.<br />
-Prioritize work assignments based on the safety, environmental, regulatory, and economic value to Eastman.</p>
<p><strong>Job Qualifications/Skills</strong><br />
- Process Analyzer Engineering and Project Management Skills, including:<br />
Sample System Design and Maintenance Improvements, including all aspects delivering a representative sample to a process analyzer.<br />
Process Analyzer Applications and Maintenance Improvements, with special emphasis on process gas chromatographs, process safety analyzers, and environmental monitoring.<br />
-Ability to work effectively in a team environment with personnel from diverse backgrounds<br />
-Ability to effectively handle a large volume of important or urgent issues in a timely manner.<br />

<p>The Attapulgus, GA site is a petroleum cracking catalyst manufacturing facility.</p>
<p>This position is responsible for providing leadership, first-line supervision, technical assistance and training to a staff of journeyman-level industrial electrical and instrumentation technicians and related maintenance personnel at the Attapulgus, GA Site.  Role is responsible for formulating and developing unit goals and objectives, supervising assigned personnel and directing day-to-day activities.  Duties and responsibilities are carried out with considerable independence within the framework of established policies, procedures and guidelines.  Work and results are reviewed through inspection and analysis of records, reports and completed work orders, and equipment and system performance.  The successful candidate for this position must be a results-oriented leader who can build strong working relationships and function effectively at all levels of the organization. He or she must be able to think strategically to mitigate risks, solve problems and increase value. Key roles and responsibilities include:</p>
<p>    * Having an in-Depth Knowledge of safe work practices, safe work methods and safety regulations.  Must be able to emulate and model Safe Behavior, Communicating and Leading in a High Performance Behavioral Safety Culture. Seeks compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements.</p>
<p>    * Working knowledge of Motor Control Centers, VFD&#8217;s and switchgear.</p>
<p>    * Working knowledge of DCS and PLC systems and equipment.</p>
