Purpose:

This position is the member of the Development team responsible for working closely with the software development team in designing, configuring and documenting the high-availability databases to ensure scalable and high performance of our company’s hosted clinical applications.

Evaluates and recommends available DBMS products after matching user requirements with system capabilities.  Develops and formulates standards, procedures, and conventions for database use.  As part of the design and development of the clinical applications, guide and review file organization, indexing methods and security procedures.  Requires demonstrated expertise in the use of database management systems, and related products from vendors such as Oracle, SAP, SAS, and IBM. 

Responsibilities:

-Work as part of the Development team providing guidance and direction in the architecture and development of the databases

-Review query logic and configurations for optimization and performance

-Analyze, design/enhance, test and document database structures and procedures

-Establish best practices for SQL database development including naming conventions and database structure layout

-Provide database support and trouble-shoot any issues related to Oracle e-Business Suite during the testing phase

-Provide technical support and guidance to other staff in the department in the areas of programming techniques, structural methods, testing procedures, business processes and document preparation

-BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent

-5+ years of Oracle application development

-Extensive experience with all aspects of Oracle Applications 11i in a Linux environment

-Strong in depth experience in database performance and SQL tuning.

-Must be very knowledgeable and experienced in underlying Oracle applications database architecture

A proactive Project Manager with a good understanding of software development processes that will drive complex software development projects to successful completion, covering all phases of the project management process (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closure).

Responsibilities:

-Work with Development, Software Quality and Production Team Leads to develop estimates (time, durations, proposed resources) and project and risk management plans

-Develop and use project plans to coordinate resources and track and report progress

-Drive execution per plans

-Obtain updates from Development, Software Quality and Production project team members and other teams, as necessary, in order to track progress against set milestone and timelines

-Communicate proactively with stakeholders and senior management regarding progress, issues and plans for resolution

-Represent the Development, Software Quality and Production project teams when communicating externally.

-Provide scheduling conflict insights to Client Project Managers to allow for prioritization discussion

-Pro-actively monitor timelines/hours for all projects/updates in Development and Software Quality and alert stakeholders of potential issues

-Assess current and potential systems and processes for effectiveness; apply innovative and effective solutions.

-Ensure project management methods, tools and techniques are utilized correctly in order to maximize benefits

-Work with project team leaders to set agendas, plan activities and facilitate decision making

-Coordinate meeting logistics including scheduling the meetings, sending out the agendas, writing and distributing minutes, tracking goals and action items, collecting meeting materials from line functions and distributing them to the team before the meeting

-Facilitate team discussions along with team leader, as necessary, to resolve priority conflicts and risk mitigation

-As appropriate, lead team meetings and support sub-team meetings to help lead decision making support and make recommendations regarding best options

-Assess team and member effectiveness and suggest improvement plans

-Ensure coordination of activities and deliverables across Development, Software Quality and Production project functions

-Identify solutions for project management improvement opportunities across the teams and manage execution of those strategies agreed upon.

Requirements:

-Bachelor degree in life science, business, industrial engineering or equivalent required. MBA degree and or PMP certification preferred.

This is a professional IT position in which the incumbent’s main responsibilities involve monitoring and maintaining the operation and stability of our orgainization’s enterprise network, which consists of Cisco, Avaya, Novell NetWare, UNIX, and Windows-based servers. The Network Engineer is responsible for maintenance and administration of Windows Servers and other Windows based software applications. He/she assists other Network Engineer(s) with IT enterprise development, integration of enterprise applications, network security, and system administration.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain the operation and stability of core network operating systems;

Monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN operational problems and assist with problem determination and resolution;

Provide administration and maintenance functions for Windows Active Directory;

Provide assistance with hardware/software installation and configuration;

Assist in assessing and applying needed OS and application updates, fixes, and patches;

Assist with implementing networked applications and ensuring network security;

Provide complete and accurate documentation as required by our organization’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies;

Assist in the assessment of compatibility of new equipment with current equipment; keep abreast of new software/hardware developments;

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) as well as five years of experience in supporting the acquisition, configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of Windows Server and Active Directory residing on a LAN/WAN. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification and/or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) preferred.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows servers essential. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Experience working with virtual technologies (e.g. VMware). Experience working in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated experience in setting up remote sites and maintaining a global enterprise. Demonstrated experience leading large projects. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are essential. Knowledge of various global telecommunications standards (i.e. E1, T1, etc.) and knowledge of system and network security is helpful. Ability to manage shifting priorities and to meet deadlines. Ability to work in a global organization, with nationals from other countries. - C/C++ training or experience is required.
- Intermediate to advanced level mastery of both business/technical applications.
- Experience with medical device development under FDA Quality Systems Regulations, CE Marking, and ISO Quality Systems desirable.
- Good oral, written, and technical writing skills are required.
